Spiced it up!!

I love spaghetti and meatballs. But sometimes you just have to switch things up.  So I decided not to make a traditional Italian spaghetti and but opted for a spicy Indian Masala Spaghetti. I am so glad I took a chance because it came out fantastic.  If you like a little bit of heat and spices that make your tastebuds dance try this new Masala Spaghetti.

Ingredients:

100 grams Spaghetti pasta
1 Pair of Sausage - Frankfurter or any kind of Sausage.
or
200 grams of Cottage Cheese/Paneer {If you want to go Veg}
1 big Onion
Oil to fry (preferably Olive Oil)
1½ Tablespoon Curry Powder
100 ml Tomato Paste
80 ml Tomato Ketchup
200 ml Water
1 Teaspoon Chilli powder/chilli flakes
Pinch of Salt
PInch of Pepper
Parsley/Cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

Boil the pasta first by keeping a pot with Salt Water to boil. Add the pasta only when the water is boiling and make sure you do not cover it! Pasta will be ready in like 8-10 mins.

Now fry the Sausages separately, by frying i mean shallow fry. Once the sausages are cooked, slice them and keep them aside.

Chop the Onion very finely, add some oil to the pan and fry the Onion translucent. Then add the Curry spice mixture and stir fry for a minute.Pour in the Tomato paste at this point, together with the Ketchup and stir fry for a minute. Pour 100 ml of the water into the pan and stir well. Keep the other 100 ml of water at the side for the end.Throw in the chilli powder, salt, pepper. Stir and cook for 3 minutes and pour in the remaining of 100 ml water. Cook this for approximately 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens.

Now add the sauce and sausage pieces into cooked pasta and give it a toss so that the pasta, sauce n sausages get mixed very well.

Note- If you are going veg, All you need to do is just replace the sausages with cottage cheese/paneer.

So thats how you get this dish cooked up. A super simple yet an addictive dish and it has got a Indo-Italian touch to it. so i'm sure all  the pasta lovers out there will definitely give it a try.
