Last week..after waiting for almost 2-3 months finally i got my hands on this Cookbook named Modern Hospitality -Simple Recipes with Southern Charm which's written by the winner of Masterchef USA season 1,Whitney Miller.I could'nt wait get this book in my hand 'cause after going through the reviews and some comments about this book on the internet...i just realized that this one should be definitely added to my cookbook collection!!Initially i was kinnda disappionted 'cause this book was only for sale in USA/Canada...and the other option was to get it through Ebay/Amazon sites..but since i do'nt have a credit card and i'm not a online shoppie...i thought that the only way left for me to get this book was either to go to US or to give up!!but i was'nt ready to give up ..never back down as they say!!!..and finally after months of search and research i got to know about this Bookstore called "The BookZone" who imports those books which are'nt available in in Indian market at a fair reasonable price than the other stores here in Mumbai City. And the amazing thing is that they even got me the book within 10 days of placing the order....My friends said that i'm really crazy to get a book for 60$ but i was sure that i won'nt be disappointed by spending that much and i'm not doing something crazy enough!!
Now coming to the Book..i gotta say Rodale books have used one of the finest quality paper they can get to make this book look beautiful and wonderful!!The forword from one of my fav chefs who's my inspiratin, motivation, like a Guru ,Chef Gordan Ramsay was truly inspirational!!
We already respect Whitney for the spirit she showed to win the title of the 1st season of Masterchef USA.And if you read this book you'll get to know how thankful Whitney is... to each and everyone .....from her Mom,her Greatgrandmom whom she considers to be her inspiration just like me,her whole family, friends, even the people behind making this book and above all that "The Lord" ,who made all this happened for her!!!
Now coming to the contents of the book...i would say everything is organized so wonderfully and i can see lot of hard work has gone into it.the contents are arranged in a way that the readers won't get confused and things are not way to crammed and crowded giving it a clean royal look.the pictures are shot perfectly in way that it'll make you look at them for hours and we also get to see some cameo shots of Whitney herself with her pleasant smile[do'nt forget to notice her trademark hhhuuuggeee Earrings].for me after going through the entire book it was like having my Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner all at once....and Whitney has managed to bring in some great breakfast ,lunch and dinner ideas which will make the readers go gaga over it..
For me it's hard to choose a fav recipe because i liked each and every recipe that's included in this Book..but i found some recipes very interesting and something i can'nt wait to try out..by giving my twist to it ...and they were upside-down quinches,,the grit cakes, the cream cheese rings with cranberry chipotle sauce, the petite shrimp rolls, the Zucchini cups ,all recipes from elegant entrees, white chocolate bread pudding,no name bars, strawberry cream cupcakes, tangerine tea, sweet and tart lemonade..and the one i liked the most the miracle marinade...To be honest initially i thought the recipes would be like way to complex with ingredients that are hard to get and i was so amazed when i went through the recipes and the ingredients..Most ingredients are easily available at the store and Whitney has even mentioned the substitutes in case the ingredients are'nt easy to get..

To me this Book would be so far one of the best cookbooks i've ever read!!And just like one of Whitney's recipes i would describe this book as "No Name CookBook" 'cause it's way too good for words...I wish that young lady all good luck in her future commitments and ofcourse her career..Keep inspiring people and spread the love of Lord through cooking!!
