A Twist In Tandoori

Well who does'nt love Tandoori chicken...the mouth watering  roasted chicken delicacy ,which  probably would be the best chicken dish in this whole world  [i'm not exaggerating],well those who have'nt tried it even once i would recommend to try it ..then i'm sure you are gonna agree with what i said above.. A Tandoori Chicken is so called that way because it's cooked in an Earthen Oven called Tandoor at high temperature.it's said that the heat for a tandoor was traditionally generated by a charcoal  fire or wood fire, burning within the tandoor itself, thus exposing the food to live-fire, radient heat cooking, and hot-air, convection cooking, and smoking by the fat and food juices that drip on to the charcoal [temperature in a tandoor can approach upto  480 °C (900 °F)].ya it could be somewhat compared to a barbeque oven...but as far i've seen them both ,it's entirely different 'cause a tandoor oven is made from natural clay!

So as My Mom is away at my Grandma's place, for about a month now i've been cooking for Lunch, dinner and breakfast....and Rene [my sister] rarely cooks but mostly it would be a disaster cooking,if she does[hope she's won't read this].but since i've to go for work on normal day's i do'nt actually get time to bring out the creative person inside me...he comes out only on my off days...for the rest of the days it's just the normal man's cooking!!As it was a saturday ,Rene [my sister] said why do'nt we order Tandoori chicken from Onam Restuarant for lunch...I told her ,"let me try to cook it myself rather than ordering from outside".but the only problem was inorder to make a Tandoori chicken you need to have a Tandoor..but since  my creative person was out today...i've decided give it a try...with a twist...

Normally this dish is made in a tandoori oven...but since i do'nt have that at home, i had an idea...the idea was to try make a Pan fried version of a Tandoori chicken using the tandoori masala. One of my friends told me that this recipe is so much similar to one of their dishes...ya actaully i got this idea from the normal pan fried version of chicken..it's just i decided to change the ingredients and the method.but it was like taking a 50-50 chance...but i can proudly say that i succeeded. My food taster,Rene and her fiance said that it was the best chicken dish they've had in the recent times...should say i was really happy ..i even posted a picture of this dish on my facebook page and believe me everybody who saw the picture fell in love with this dish and was asking me for the recipe..And i've already added it to my cookbook as it's one my best creation..

So as requested by everyone ,i'm sharing this recipe for the Pan fried version of Tandoori chicken in tomato gravy..

3. Prepare the gravy by mixing the chilli sauce, sliced onions- tomatoes, soy sauce, vinegar and stock in a pan.
4. Make a paste of corn flour and water.
5. Place pan over medium heat for a minute. When the gravy starts to boil, add the corn flour mixture and thicken. Remove pan from heat.
