Pasta...Pasta

So as i'm having a week off from work [most people would go for a vacation or something] but i decided to spent that time in my kitchen..yes you heard it..Kitchen!!it's one of those  places where i get to see the real me....One of my friends once asked me "do'nt you ever get bored and get tired of cooking?"yes you get bored and tired if you do cooking thinking that it's just a process and if you do'nt enjoy it!!just like you enjoy listening to music or playing some sports ,if you do cooking the same way....by enjoying it....take my word people it's gonna be a different experience...Just as Julia Child said "some people like to paint pictures, or do gardening, or build a boat in the basement. Other people get a tremendous pleasure out of the kitchen, because cooking is just as creative and imaginative an activity as drawing, or wood carving, or music."

So today,my sister [she rarely cooks]asked me to make something different ..and as my Mom is  away at my Grandparent's place, i've the kitchen all by myself..now since she said different .......i decided to change my root .....and go Italian...afterall it's my 2nd fav cuisine after Southern Indian cuisine...Okay if it's Italian then it's gonna be pasta .....When it comes to pasta there are many different types of pastas that are available ....but i had Gomitoi...and Ditalini when i checked .. Gomito vs Ditalini...but unfortunately Gomito won...as i've decided to make Cheesy macaroni...so quickly went through my cookbook...and thank God ,luckily i had everything i needed to make it..'cause most times when i decide to make something i always end up with atleast one thing missing....okay so here goes.............presenting

Cheesy Macaroni:

Macaroni in cheesy white sauce

INGREDIENTS:

Macaroni  : 300 grams

Processed cheese  : grated 1 cup

Butter  : 2 tablespoons

Refined flour  : 2 tablespoon

Milk  :2 cups

Salt  : to taste

White pepper powder  : to taste

Fresh parsley  : chopped 1 tablespoon

METHOD:

Boil macaroni in sufficient water. Drain and refresh under running water. Drain and set aside. Heat butter in a pan. Add maida and sauté lightly, taking care that it does not change colour. Add milk, gradually, stirring continuously so that there are no lumps formed. Add grated cheese and keep stirring. After adding cheese the sauce will thicken further, so add more milk to adjust the consistency. Add salt, white pepper powder and mix. Heat some butter in another pan. Add macaroni. Toss. Strain the sauce into this pan and mix gently. Add some more cheese. At this stage if you want to bake you can do so till the cheese at the top becomes a light golden. Or serve it just like that. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

I remember saying in my last blog that i'll come up with another banana flower recipe next..well that's gonna be in my next blog for sure!!take care .......
